Do you need to form a new LLC, but you’re uncomfortable going it alone with the DIY route?

This IncNow vs IncFile comparison guide breaks down everything you need to know about these two respected business services providers. When you’re finished reading, you’ll know which one is the better fit for your business.
Do IncNow and IncFile Offer Good Value?
|🥇IncFile||Starts at $0||(4.8/5)||Excellent||Absolutely|
|IncNow||Starts at $99||(4.4/5)||Fair||Sometimes|
With IncNow and IncFile, we have two of the most popular LLC formation service providers available online. They’re both reputable companies with plenty of experience, so they’re both pretty easy to recommend to our readers. However, IncFile does have some distinct advantages that make them our preferred pick for most of our readers.
To begin with, IncFile’s $0 starting price point for LLC service is far less than IncNow’s $99 rate.
If you would like to learn more about the important details of these two LLC services, read on to get the necessary info about their main commonalities and differences.
7 Things They Have In Common
1) Affordable: Both IncNow and IncFile can save you a significant amount of money compared to hiring a lawyer to draft and file your articles of organization. The LLC isn’t all that complex of a business type to begin with, so you may not need an attorney’s expertise anyway.
2) Customer Support: While you’re saving money compared to hiring a lawyer, these services don’t leave you alone to tackle the DIY route either. Thanks to their customer service departments, help is only a phone call or email away if you have any questions or run into any trouble.
3) Experience: Both of these service providers have been around for quite a while, and they’ve also each served thousands of customers. They have the expertise to get the job done right.
4) Efficiency: Need your LLC formed in a hurry? No worries! Both IncNow and IncFile have expediting options available (for an extra charge, of course) that can cut your turnaround times down from several weeks to a matter of just a few days.
5) Registered Agent Service: Every LLC needs to designate a registered agent to receive and forward your official government documents. Both IncNow and IncFile include 12 months of registered agent service with any LLC formation service package, which means there’s one less item on your to-do list following formation.
6) Great Customer Reviews: It’s always nice to be able to read positive customer feedback before making any purchase, and LLC formation service is no exception. Thankfully, both IncNow and IncFile receive nearly universal praise from their customers.
7) Security: Making safe, secure purchases online is a major priority for anyone, and both of these companies understand that. IncNow uses Norton Web Security to ensure that its website is safe to browse, and IncFile uses Authorize.Net to verify their merchant identity.
Side by Side Comparisons
With IncNow, you’ll pay $99 plus state fee for their most affordable Basic package. IncFile beats that price point soundly, offering their Silver LLC formation package for just $0.
However, if you are a resident of the state of Delaware and able to serve as your own registered agent, IncNow will form your LLC for as little as $9, which is also a very reasonable price point for LLC formation service. (See Details)
Everyone would obviously rather pay $0 than $99 (or even $9), right? What if we told you that this was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to IncFile’s advantages over IncNow? Considering the fact that these companies offer nearly identical features in their entry-level LLC packages, we’re not sure why anyone would choose to pay IncNow $99 instead of paying IncFile nothing.
As we mentioned earlier, both of these companies provide a full year of registered agent service with any LLC formation package purchase. Other than that, these offerings are fairly similar, with the main difference being IncFile’s inclusion of a 30-minute business tax consultation, which IncNow does not offer.
However, it is important to remind you that IncNow only forms LLCs in Delaware, whereas IncFile forms businesses in all 50 states.
To be clear, even IncNow provides more value than many of its competitors, as receiving 12 months of registered agent service and LLC formation for $99 total is still a pretty good deal. The problem in the context of this comparison is that IncFile is one of the absolute best companies in this industry because of how much value they provide to their customers, so it’s hard to compete with what they have to offer.
IncFile is a highly experienced LLC service, with more than 250,000 businesses formed since they opened back in 2004. IncNow is a smaller company, but they’ve served 17,000+ businesses since 1974, so their longevity is still quite impressive.
IncNow has a reputation for top-notch customer service, with helpful and professional support reps that are available from 9 am to 5 pm ET on weekdays. IncFile has a bit more availability, from 10 am to 7 pm ET weekdays, but it can take a while to get ahold of them sometimes. We have experienced wait times exceeding 24 hours at times with IncFile.
IncNow’s turnaround times range from 4-6 days with standard processing, or you can choose to expedite your LLC formation which will take just 24 hours. IncFile takes much longer to form LLCs in Delaware, as they have a standard filing time of 15 business days, and an expedited time of five days. As for the other 49 states, IncFile’s filing times vary from several weeks to just a few days, depending on your state’s guidelines.
IncNow sends you an order confirmation email when you place your order, but if you want further updates, you’ll need to contact them. On the other hand, IncFile has a slick real-time order status tracking tool available on their website that informs you exactly which step your formation is in.
Registered Agent Service
Every LLC in America is required to designate a registered agent, which is a person or business entity that receives important document deliveries (like service of process) from your state government, informs you of the receipt, then forwards the documents to you. This is so crucial because the state needs to have a reliable means of contacting your business at any time.
Both of these companies include 12 months of registered agent service with any LLC formation package purchase. After that free first year, IncNow charges $90 per year, compared to the $119 annual fee charged by IncFile. (What is a registered agent?)
If you like to read positive customer feedback before making a purchase, these two companies have plenty of it. Both IncNow and IncFile receive nearly universal praise from their clients, and the only noteworthy difference is the fact that IncNow has more than 600 reviews available online, whereas IncFile has nearly 16,000.
Ease of Use
IncFile’s website is a bit more streamlined and easy to navigate than IncNow’s, but it doesn’t affect functionality. This category gets a slight preference for IncFile, but it’s not a big deal.
Seeing as these companies both operate in the business services industry, it’s understandable that there’s a significant amount of overlap between them when it comes to the services they offer. For example, both IncFile and IncNow provide registered agent service, foreign qualifications, EIN acquisition, doing business as (DBA) names, and more.
We couldn’t find any features that IncNow provides and IncFile doesn’t, but we did find a few services that went the other way. Specifically, IncFile offers trademark services and business accounting services, while IncNow does not offer either. In addition, IncFile serves businesses in all 50 states but IncNow only offers services in Delaware.
Which LLC Provider Wins?
IncNow and IncFile are two of the top LLC formation services available online. They both have the experience and expertise to properly form your new LLC in an effective and efficient fashion. No matter which one you choose, we’re confident that you’ll be pleased with the service you receive.
Since some of you may remain undecided, we’ll close this comparison by briefly outlining some of the main reasons people choose IncNow and IncFile. We wish you the best of luck with your new business!

Frequently Asked Questions
Got questions? We’ve got answers.
If I Decide to Use IncFile, Which Package Should I Choose?
We think there’s a lot to like about both IncFile’s Silver ($0 + state fee) and Gold ($149) packages, but our preference is the Silver option.
Even though it’s totally free, the Silver package includes your LLC formation service and a full year of their registered agent service, which is obviously an incredible bargain.
Still, if you’d rather add some advanced features, the Gold package includes an operating agreement and an EIN (which most businesses need), but it also has some unnecessary features that no one really needs, like a binder embossed with your company name.
Is IncFile as Good as Other LLC Services?
Is IncFile the best LLC service? That’s one of our most asked questions. In short, they certainly are one of the best. For a close up look at how they compare to other top rated LLC services, check out our comparisons below:
Does Either of These Services Have a Refund Policy?
While many of their competitors do provide this service, like ZenBusiness, IncFile does not.
When we called them to inquire about why they don’t help with publication requirements, their customer support representative told us that “those need to be taken care of with the state directly.”
Which Service Has Fewer Upsells?
So many companies in this industry seem like they’re more concerned with pushing you to purchase additional products and services than they are with actually providing them.
Thankfully, that’s not the case with IncNow or IncFile, as they both avoid more than the absolute minimum amount of upsells. They both provide straightforward services, without any pressure or haggling.
Do These Services Share My Information With Third Parties?
IncNow does a great job of sticking to their guns and simply providing their own services the best way they can. They don’t share your info with third-party partners, or try to get you to sign up for any “free extras” or “bonus features.”
On the other hand, IncFile has a couple of features in their LLC formation packages that do just that. Their offer for a business bank account requires sharing your info with Bank of America, and if you leverage their offer of a business website and domain name, they’ll share your personal information with a company called SnapWeb.
Do Either of These Services Have a Refund Policy?
Both of these companies have refund policies that are quite limited, to say the least.
IncNow says that if you request a refund before they’ve started preparing your articles of organization, they will provide a refund less a $50 fee. If you request a refund after they start working on your formation documents, they will only return your unpaid state fees. After that, you’re out of luck.
IncFile is similarly strict about refunds. You have until they submit your payment to your state to request a refund (typically within 24 hours), which they’ll grant less a $30 convenience fee. There are no refunds available after they send your payment to the state.
Which LLC Formation Website Is Faster?
IncNow certainly lives up to the “now” portion of their name, as they have some of the quickest Delaware LLC formation turnaround times in the industry.
If you elect standard processing, they estimate a 4-6 day turnaround, and expedited orders take them just 24 hours. By contrast, IncFile has a standard Delaware processing time of 15 business days, and their expedited turnaround for this state is 5 business days.
Can I Just Form an LLC On My Own, Without a Service?
This is always an option, and quite a few entrepreneurs do use the DIY route to form LLCs every day. However, we love the peace of mind we get from hiring professionals to form our LLC because you can trust that they completed each step correctly.
