Incorporate.com LLC Service Review (Advantages & Disadvantages)

Incorporate.com LLC ReviewIncorporate.com has served 750,000+ companies since they opened for business way back in 1899.

There are many companies providing LLC formation services, but Incorporate.com (Formerly The Company Corporation) has found a way to remain relevant for over a century.

This Incorporate.com LLC service review is structured in a way that will hopefully give you a complete picture of their LLC formation process, and help you decide whether you’d like to use their services.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages of Incorporate.com:

  • Unlike some competitors that only handle the simple filing of your formation documents, Incorporate.com offers complete LLC formation service. You can rest easy knowing that every step of the process was handled in a way that ensures the compliance of your business.
  • Seeing as they originally opened in the 19th century, it goes without saying that no competitor can match their longevity.
  • They have an extensive collection of comprehensive guides in their online Learning Center. Covering topics ranging from state-specific formation requirements to tax filings and deductions, there’s a wealth of information available to Incorporate.com customers.

Disadvantages of Incorporate.com:

  • Incorporate.com is not the most affordable LLC service, with pricing that starts at $79. There are alternatives that will form your LLC for $30 less. (See Top Services)
  • There isn’t much online customer feedback for Incorporate.com, and the reviews that we did find aren’t exactly highly complimentary. Less than 20% of their online customer reviews are positive in nature.
  • Incorporate.com’s LLC formation service does not include registered agent service in any of their packages. Additionally, their registered agent service as an add-on is much more expensive than most competitors, at $235 per year. This is available from other companies for $100 or less.

Incorporate.com LLC Packages

Incorporate.com has 3 different packages for LLC formation, and they vary in both pricing and features. You can take a look at all of the details as they present them on their website.

Keep in mind that if there are any state-specific formation compliance needs (such as publishing requirements to advertise your formation in a newspaper), Incorporate.com will handle those for an additional fee. Many of their competitors will not offer these services at all, so it’s nice to know they’ll take care of everything, even though it can end up costing a bit more. This a big advantage of Incorporate.com.

Each of their packages is built out in such a way that it’s intended to appeal to the needs of different sizes and types of businesses. While it’s not simple to make one overarching recommendation, their packages are differentiated in ways that make some better values than others.

Option 1:

It all starts with the aptly named Starter package, which checks in at a $79 price point before state fee. This package gives you the absolute basics and nothing else. They’ll handle the preparation and filing of all your formation forms, and also deliver electronic copies of your completed documents back to you. However, there are no other features in this package. It truly is just the basics.

Option 2:

The Essentials package is next up, and it costs $249 plus state fee. At this level, you receive everything from the Starter package, plus a federal tax ID number (or EIN) which enables your business to hire employees, file taxes, open business bank accounts and more. Additionally, you’ll get an LLC kit and seal, which is a fun symbol of your formation but has no actual real-life value.

Costing $150 more than the Starter level, it’s not easy to justify that price tag when there’s only one valuable addition — and an EIN certainly isn’t worth $150 on its own.

Option 3:

Finally, we get to the Works package, costing $349 plus your state fees. This package includes everything from the Essentials level, along with a business license compliance package which gives you everything you need to acquire the licenses and permits your company needs to stay compliant.

You also get an LLC operating agreement to outline the structure and nature of your business. The business license package alone is probably worth the $100 upcharge from Essentials, but keep in mind Essentials isn’t the most logically bundled package of features for its price.

My Opinion:

Ultimately, the Starter is probably the best, which is too bad because it’s quite the barebones offering. Still, Essentials doesn’t seem worth an extra $150 to me, and seeing as Works is built on the foundation of Essentials, it probably isn’t worth its price tag either.

What Are Other Entrepreneurs Saying?

Despite the fact that they’ve been in operation for over a century, there are not many customer reviews online for Incorporate.com. If you would like to check out the 46 reviews we did find, you can read them on Yelp and BBB.org.

Oddly, all 8 of the positive reviews we tracked down were written in a roughly 3-week stretch from 4/21/2014 to 5/13/2014 on Yelp. No review written outside that 3-week window on Yelp regarding Incorporate.com is positive.

I expected to find more feedback in general, and it’s especially odd that they apparently only inspired people to write positive reviews for a 3-week span in 2014. Depending on how much weight you place on customer feedback, this may or may not be a big deal to you, but it would be hard to spin it as a positive.

Should You Use Incorporate.com?

Incorporate.com is a highly experienced company that’s capable of quickly and effectively forming your LLC. Of course, they won’t be the perfect answer for every entrepreneur, so we’ll wrap things up by discussing some scenarios where you may or may not want to use Incorporate.com for your LLC formation.

When to Use Incorporate.com:

If you place a high value on experience, a company that’s been around since 1899 likely appeals to you. Also, if you want a provider that ensures every possible step for formation compliance is completed correctly, Incorporate.com can do that for you.

When NOT to Use Incorporate.com:

If you want to save money, there are better options. For example, IncFile’s pricing starts at $49 and also includes a full year of registered agent service and other valuable extras. Another factor is that some competitors have a far better history of customer feedback.

Final Verdict:

Incorporate.com isn’t the cheapest service, and they don’t have many additional features to speak of. However, they are a complete formation service that will cover every aspect of your compliant formation.
